We were delighted to have Nick Griggs, a Mary Peters Trust athlete, join us during last week's All Hands call! Nick Griggs, an exceptionally talented running athlete from Co Tyrone, has set his sights on becoming an Olympian and winning a coveted medal. His running journey began with a spark of inspiration ignited by Usain Bolt's performance at the 2012 Olympics. At the young age of 16, Nick achieved a remarkable feat by winning the World Junior Championships in the 3000m event in July 2021. With unwavering support from the Mary Peters Trust, his school, and his devoted family, Nick is wholeheartedly committed to pursuing a career in professional athletics.

At just 19 years old, Nick's next major milestone is Paris 2024 Olympics. He eagerly anticipates the valuable learning opportunities and additional experience that lie ahead. When it comes to staying motivated, Nick emphasised the importance of setting ambitious goals while also keeping it realistic. He advises considering the natural progression and asking yourself, "What is the logical next step?"

In the realm of both sports and the business world, there’s a strong parallel. Like athletes, professionals in Alchemy face a journey filled with training, preparation, and dedication. However, the key to success lies in maintaining high aspirations and determination. As we navigate hurdles on our journey, we embrace growth by adapting, overcoming obstacles, and consistently evaluating our progress along the way.

Nick's key takeaway quote encapsulates this mindset perfectly: If you’re not willing to hurt, you’re wasting your time.

Thank you, Nick, for joining us!
