I’ve been very quiet on LinkedIn and haven’t updated my profile since accepting my new position with Alchemy Technology Services, it’s hard to believe it’s been 8 months! Since it’s been so long, I wanted to post some updates with everything Alchemy has helped me achieve and the opportunities they have given me. Since Joining Alchemy in June 2021, I have obtained Guidewire certifications in:

• PolicyCenter 10.0 Configuration – Professional Certification
• PolicyCenter 10.0 Configuration – Specialist Certification
• InsuranceSuite 10.0 Fundamentals
• InsuranceSuite Implementation Methodology Course

Working with Alchemy has given me more responsibility and independence, with exciting opportunities such as being part of two major cloud upgrade projects for clients based in Dublin and Canada.

Life at Alchemy is a lot more fun and fast-paced. I have attended numerous events beginning with the first ever AlchemyFest back in August. This was a wonderful opportunity for me, as a new employee, to meet a lot of my colleagues as up until then we had mostly been working remotely. I was launched straight into the remarkable social aspect of the company which is like no other.? Alchemy have gone above and beyond to make sure I’ve felt welcomed and well looked after.

Being a woman in tech, it is a massive motivation of mine to encourage this type of career to the younger generation, as well as working for a company that not only focuses on making the workspace better for women but holds it as a priority. Alchemy have held their own internal Women @Alchemy event which was an open forum on how we as a company can improve. I had the opportunity to attend the Women in Tech conference in February which was held in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast and included a fantastic and interesting talk from the keynote speaker, Caroline Bedford from EDII.

Alchemy have also become one of the first podium partners for the Mary Peters Trust, a charity that enables young athletes to achieve their sporting dreams and ambitions. To kick off the first event of the year we attended the Mary Peters Trust ‘In Conversation With’ in the Waterfront which marked the 50th year since Lady Mary Peters Olympic Gold Medal win. This was a massive moment for me to attend an event with such inspiring sporting legends such as Lady Mary Peters, Dame Kelly Holmes, Marissa Callaghan and Fionnula Toner.

Overall, Alchemy has been extremely exciting for me with more opportunities being presented for even bigger projects. I have many exciting things to look forward to in the next coming months. I couldn’t recommend the people and progression enough, it’s fun, friendly and fast paced! Not to mention collaborative with everyone willing to help. I’m looking forward to what the future holds.
