The Academy, supported by the Department for the Economy, is a tailor-made, 5 week, preemployment training programme delivered in partnership with North West Regional College.
It’s designed to equip you with relevant skills and certifications that are in demand in the marketplace and provide a bridge that will span the gap between finishing your course and entering a career in an exciting tech driven industry.

Our roles
Technical Analyst
Our Technical Analysts work in tandem with the client’s internal team and partners to address their needs and become a trusted adviser. During projects, they will identify customer business requirements and use Out-of-the-box Insurance Solutions while leveraging their configuration capabilities to meet customer requirements. Technical Analysts are expected to spend the majority of their time on site with the client, working alongside the business and technical teams.
Applicants must have a good academic result (such as a BSc in Computer Science or equivalent from third level institution) with the minimum level of education require being a HND in an IT related discipline. We also welcome applications from MSc graduates of technical disciplines.
Technical Analysts need to have a good technical grounding with an understanding of programming languages including Java, SQL, C# and C++ as well as an awareness of Object Oriented Design principles.
Business Analyst
The role of the Alchemy Business Analyst (BA) is to analyse, refine and document business requirements, and work with the development teams to translate these requirements into accurate Software Specifications. They will be involved in all phases of the project lifecycle and will form key relationships with both business and solution delivery teams.
Business Analysts will require a Business or Finance related degree and must have an interest in technology.
In addition…
European language skills are desirable for both roles.
Both roles will require extensive travel in the UK and wider Europe (with the potential for travel to North America and Africa), as you will work on-site with industry leading client, gaining hands-on commercial experience.

The Alchemy application process is very straightforward, we have tried to make it as simple as possible for our prospective Alchemists to put their best foot forward. You will not find any aptitude tests, long essay type questions or group interviews. We want to get to know you, where your knowledge lies, what skills you have, what your passions are.

Virtual Info Session (for applicants invited to interview): Sunday 11th October
Interviews: Week commencing Monday 12th October
Academy 6 commences: 2nd November
Participation on the Academy is not a guarantee of employment with Alchemy. We continually assess and review candidates throughout the Academy and offer positions to those who have successfully completed the process at the end of the 5 weeks.
